Seeking Summer 2027 internships

Cole Pridgen

M.S. Data Science, Columbia University · New York, NY

I've built the revenue and sales analytics that teams at Yelp and Hatch run on, trained deep learning models to classify lymphoma subtypes, and I'm now building regime-aware models for futures markets.

Experience

Three summers of turning data into decisions

From biotech research in Cape Town to revenue and sales analytics in New York, each role moved closer to the business side of data.

May – Aug 2026

Business Operations Analyst Intern

Yelp · New York, NY

  • Built and optimized SQL queries behind Tableau dashboards tracking account executive performance, pipeline trends, and sales KPIs.
  • Built and presented HubSpot reports that let sales reps track monthly quota goals, contributing to a 20% increase in productivity.
  • Created account manager profiling processes with Stripe data to validate contract terms and keep payout calculations accurate.
Jun – Aug 2025

Revenue Analyst Intern

Hatch · New York, NY

  • Led cohort-based net revenue retention analysis across industry verticals and AI adoption, surfacing patterns that informed product strategy.
  • Set up automated SQL pipelines in BigQuery and interactive Metabase dashboards, giving RevOps and Product real-time visibility into revenue.
  • Ran weekly time-tracking analysis for account managers, with recommendations to improve productivity.

Data Science Intern

Axaitech · Cape Town, South Africa

  • Designed data structures and models for anticancer peptides, targeting specific amino acids to evaluate treatment effectiveness and support early detection tests.
  • Researched the biotechnology behind anticancer peptides to identify the features that matter for modeling.
  • Worked with fellow interns to assemble a foundational dataset, reconciling different approaches along the way.

My story

Why lymphoma research is personal

In the middle of my undergraduate degree, the disease I now study became my own diagnosis.

In April 2025 I went to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for back pain I had written off as a muscle strain. Within days, doctors found a large mass between my liver and pancreas and diagnosed it as Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and fast-growing cancer.

I spent the next six months in chemotherapy at VCU Health in Richmond, including five-day infusions of dose-adjusted EPOCH-R and methotrexate. Through all of it I kept up my coursework and completed my virtual internship at Hatch. My parents, my girlfriend, and my fraternity brothers at Phi Gamma Delta made sure I never went through it alone.

I finished treatment on September 25, 2025, and returned to Florida State shortly after. Back on campus, I finished my honors thesis on deep learning for lymphoma classification, and graduated in May 2026. The experience taught me to keep small stresses in perspective, and it gave my work in data science a reason that goes beyond the numbers.

Beyond work

If I'm not working, I'm probably golfing

I'm a 3 handicap, played club golf at Florida State, and caddied at The Foundry Golf Club in Powhatan, Virginia, so I've seen the game from both sides of the bag. It's how I unwind, and it's my favorite excuse to spend four hours outside with good people.

If you play, let me know. I'm always looking for a new course to try.

Always up for a round.
